【drug-news】草药治女性不孕有疗效

It's not mainstream, modern medicine.
But supporters of Herbology believe it works.
Sarah Garrett has two very good reasons to believe in herbology: 2-year-old Katie and and 2-month-old Colton.
"They are just my little miracles," Garrett said.
After years of trying to have a baby and spending thousands of dollars in fertility treatments, Garrett turned to certified herbologist Dr. Chung-Hwei Churnly.
"He put me on a three month plan," she said. "I think the first two weeks I went in twice a week and was taking all the herbs and vitamins they were suggesting."
At first, Garrett was skeptical about trying something so untraditional.
"I didn't know what to expect, and at the time, he said he was treating about 10 patients for that," said Garrett.
Any doubts she had quickly vanished.
"About five weeks later, I went in for my appointment and said, 'I'm pregnant,'" she said.
Infertility is one of many things herbs are used to treat. From the flu to sinusitis and bronchitis, herbs have been used to heal the sick for centuries.
Dr. Chernly, a Bedford M.D. and Herbologist, said St. John's Wort has been used for many years to treat mild depression.
"Without herbs we do not have contemporary modern drugs because about 60-70 percent of modern drugs... they originated from those herbs," Dr. Chernly said.
Herbology is not a mainstream treatment and is often dismissed by traditional doctors, but its supporters are growing.
"The first time, I thought maybe it could be a coincidence," said Garrett. "But even if it was a coincidence, the other more mainstream type thing didn't work... even as a coincidence... so when it worked the second time, I was just sure."
