【科普】女性不育－病因面面观

Infertility is a big problem that women face all over the world. Sometimes, it is caused by factors beyond the control of the women. For instance, it could be due to genetic factors like chromosomes abnormalities or disease. Like endometriosis, uterine fibroids etc.
Some of the above-mentioned conditions may be beyond the control of the woman. However, some women are infertile because of the wrong choices they made in life. Certain habits and social behaviours that they indulged in as youth are responsible for the infertility that many women are suffering from today.
There is tendency to believe that smoking is not a common habit among Nigerian women.
But a lot of women, smoke, although not in public. Most female undergraduates and Nigerian actresses smoke.
Epidemic studies have demonstrated that cigarette smoking is associated with delayed conception suggesting subfecundity Low fecundity in daughters of smoking mothers, increased rates of abortion and neonatal death and early menopause.
According to Good Health magazine. Two toxic components of cigarette smoke, cadmium and nicotine, alter the meiotine, alter the meiotic maturations of ocytes or eggs. An average woman who smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day enter menopause two years earlier than non-smokers, due to the attraction in the production of the hormones estrogen and progesterone.
Alchol consumption is another factor that can cause infertility in women because it can lead to absence of menstrual periods and failure of ovulation.
Also, a woman with multiple sex partner runs the risk of contacting sexually transmitted diseases (STD). All STD are associated to the pelvic which may develop scar tissue that impedes the uterus, fallopian tube and ovaries.
Vigorous exercise can cause infertility in women. Over-exertion can be damaging to the body, to the reproductive system and irregularity of menstrual cycle. Strenuous exercise leads to increased endorphin levels which in turn, acts on central nervous system pathways that leads to inhabitation of reproductive function.
Lastly, nutrition plays a major role in fertility. Research has found out that the effect of caffeine on women is dangerous. Caffeine is a substance found in beverages such as tea, coffee, soft drinks and tin foods like chocolates. Caffeine lacks nutritional value and serves as body stimulant.
It is said that “the fruit of womb is from God” but addiction to caffeine, alchol, sex, smoke etc could be a hindrance to inheritance of God’s promises and gift.

不孕是世界各地许多女性都面临的一大难题。有时候，致病因素并非这些妇女能控制。比如说染色体异常或疾病、子宫内膜异位症、子宫平滑肌瘤等等。

上述的一些情况妇女们往往无能为力。然而，有些妇女的不孕却来自于她们生活中的不当选择。年轻时沉溺的某些习惯和行为导致了不孕的发生。
