Patch can help regrow cardiac cells
July 17, 2007 - A special patch placed on a damaged area of the heart can help regenerate cardiac cells after a heart attack.
A team of researchers in Boston have developed the patch. It contains a compound called periostin, which helps heart muscle cells divide and multiply.
Findings show the patch improves heart function in heart attack survivors.
